Accessibility
Rekkie is built to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Accessibility is checked as part of how we build and release the site, not as an afterthought.
What we’ve done
Across the site we provide: text and background colours that meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast (measured, in both light and dark themes); a visible keyboard focus indicator and a “skip to content” link; semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a logical heading order; labels on every form field; SVG icons with text alternatives rather than decorative emoji; a responsive layout that works down to small phones with comfortably large touch targets; and respect for the “reduce motion” setting so animations don’t play for people who prefer less movement.
Known limitations
The interactive map is a supplementary way to browse — the same places are always available as an accessible list, which is the primary view. Venue photography is still being added; in the meantime image areas use descriptive placeholders.
Tell us if something doesn’t work
If you hit an accessibility barrier, we want to fix it. Email roscoe@dandylioninc.co.za with the page and what went wrong, and we’ll respond and put it right as quickly as we can.
