Rekkie helps Joburg families find their next day out — without the endless group-chat scrolling.

We’re a small, locally-run guide to family outings within reach of Johannesburg and Pretoria: hikes, swims, 4x4 trails, farms, markets, rainy-day fun, restaurants with real activities, and the city’s best museums, arts and theatre. Every place is hand-picked and honestly rated — including the catches, closures and “check before you drive” notes you won’t get from a scraped directory. We care about experiences, not generic mall days.

How we make money

Rekkie is free for families. We earn through featured venue listings, a sponsor slot in our weekly email, booking links that may pay a small commission (never changing your price), and enquiry leads for party and school-outing venues. We only ever recommend places on their merits.
